What notifications are available in Helm CONNECT?

The list below describes the email notifications in Helm CONNECT.

NoteOnly people who can log in and who have a valid email address will receive email notifications.

Assets

Responsible parties for an asset will receive an email notification when the following activities occur:

  • When a task for that asset is assigned to shore.
  • When a high priority task is created for one of that asset's essential systems.
  • When a low or medium priority task for one of that asset's essential systems is changed to high priority.
  • When a high priority task for one of that asset's essential systems is updated or finished.

Tasks and other work

The following activities will trigger email notifications related to tasks and other work:

  • An individual will receive an email notification when he or she is assigned a task, regardless of whether the task was created manually or whether it was the result of a failed checklist item.
  • An individual will receive a notification when he or she is assigned an inspection checklist.
  • An individual will receive a notification when he or she is assigned a maintenance checklist.

Certifications

Responsible parties for either a certification template, or for an individual certification, will receive an email notification when the following activities occur: 

  • When a certification reaches any of its lead time milestones. For example, if a certification has lead times set for 30 and 60 days, responsible parties will receive notifications when it's 60 days from expiring and again when it's 30 days from expiring.
  • If a certification is submitted or renewed with an expiry date that is already past one or more of its lead time milestones. For example, if a certification has lead times set for 30, 60, and 90 days, and it's submitted or renewed with an expiry date only 47 days from today, responsible parties will immediately receive a notification that the certification is 47 days from expiring, because it's already past both its 60 and 90-day milestones. He or she will receive an additional notification when it's 30 days from expiring.

Parts and requisitions

The following activities will trigger email notifications related to parts and requisitions:

  • Responsible parties for an inventory template will receive a notification when an inventory checklist based on that template generates a requisition.
  • Responsible parties for a requisition template will receive a notification when a requisition based on that template is submitted.
  • Responsible parties for an individual requisition (not based on a template) will receive a notification when that requisition is submitted.

Forms

Responsible parties for a form will receive an email notification when the following activities occur:

  • When a form with a shore approval section has been finished and submitted for shore approval.
  • When a form without a shore approval section has been finished and recorded in history.

Documents

Responsible parties for a document will receive an email notification when the following activities occur:

  • When each vessel computer first receives the original document.
  • When each vessel computer receives new versions of the document.

Audits and corrective actions

The following activities will trigger email notifications related to audits and corrective actions:

  • Responsible parties for an audit will receive a notification when the audit is closed and ready for review.
  • An individual will receive a notification if he or she has created a corrective action which has been finished and is now awaiting his or her approval.
  • An individual will receive a notification if he or she has been assigned a corrective action.
