Crew Scheduling: Create Schedule Types
Schedule types allow you to configure rules for crewing off, crewing on, and hours work that ensure your work periods are automatically given the correct value and your crew receive the correct pay.
Examples You could use schedule types if your company has rules that define when a work period is considered a full day, a half day, or any other portion of a day. For example, you might need rules that says a work period will be given the amount of 0.5 if it meets at least one of the following conditions:
- The crew member crews off before noon
- The crew member crews on after noon
- The crew member works less than 4 hours
- If none of these conditions apply, then the work period will be given an amount of 1.
You can assign one schedule type to each of your assets. Crew members inherit the schedule type rules from the asset they're scheduled to, and these rules determine the values allocated to their work periods on the asset.
Note By default, work periods are given a value of 1 but a schedule type rule will override this default if a work period satisfies the conditions in the rule.
