Version 1.17: Updates to the Components, Maintenance Templates, and Maintenance Checklists reports
In Version 1.17, our new Maintenance by Metric feature required some supporting changes to the Components, Maintenance Templates, and Maintenance Checklists reports. These changes appear in both the report builder view and in any exported report data you use with external reporting tools, such as Power BI and MS Excel.
Components report
We made the following changes to the Components report:
- The report now includes any cumulative reading types you've defined in the system.
- The list of available columns on the left now displays an item for each cumulative reading type.
- In both the report preview and exported report, each cumulative reading type is now displayed in its own column.
- Cumulative reading columns now use the reading type's "Display Name" value in the column header label.
For users who export report data for use with external reporting tools, here's an example of how the column names could change in the exported report data; the actual data that appears depends on the cumulative reading types defined in your system:
Maintenance Templates report
We made the following changes to the Maintenance Templates report:
- The Frequency filter in the report builder now allows you to filter the report based on any cumulative reading type.
- We replaced the Frequency (hours) column with Frequency (Cumulative Readings), which displays a text string that includes all cumulative reading schedules, for example, "500 hr Running Hours or 6000 gal Fuel Used." This name change also appears in the list of available columns on the left.
For users who export report data for use with external reporting tools, here's an example of how the column names will change in the exported report data:
Maintenance Checklists report
We made the following changes to the Maintenance Checklists report:
- We replaced the Frequency (hours) column with Frequency (Cumulative Readings), which displays a text string that includes all cumulative reading schedules, for example, "500 hr Running Hours or 6000 gal Fuel Used."
- We replaced the Due Hours column with Due (Cumulative Readings), which displays a text string that includes all cumulative reading schedules of when the checklist is due, for example, "877 hr Running Hours or 9670 gal Fuel Used."
- We replaced the Running Hours on Completion column with Cumulative Readings on Completion, which displays a text string that includes all cumulative reading schedules and the total amount of each reading when the checklist was completed, for example, "1545 hr Running Hours, 28130 gal Fuel Used."
- These column name changes also appear in the list of available columns on the left.
- The Overdue column now uses information from all available schedules, both calendar and cumulative reading due values, to determine whether or not the checklist is overdue compared to the date parameters set for the report.
For users who export report data for use with external reporting tools, here's an example of how the column names will change in the exported report data:
More about these changes
Here are a few more things to remember about these report changes:
- Existing reports will be migrated to use the modified data sources.
- Cumulative reading columns display the reading type unit and the display name after the value. Previously, any readings displayed only the numeric values.
- If no cumulative reading value exists, the column will be empty.
If you use Power Query to process report data for use in Microsoft Excel or Power BI, these changes might affect you. Contact your account manager for more information.
