Configure SSO for Helm CONNECT with Okta
Setting up SSO for Helm CONNECT is a combination of steps: some are completed on your company's IdP account (likely by your IT department), and other steps are done in Helm CONNECT. This article will help you configure SSO for Helm CONNECT with Okta Identity Management.
Create a SAML 2.0 App Integration
The first step is to create a new SAML 2.0 app integration.
To create a SAML 2.0 App Integration
- Sign in to Okta.
- On the menu bar on the left, under Applications, click Applications.
- Click Create App Integration.
- Select SAML 2.0 then click Next.
Name the SAML Integration
The second step is to name the SAML integration.
To name the SAML integration
- Under 1. General Settings, enter the information in the screenshot below, then click Next.
Configure SAML Integration
The third step is to configure SAML integration.
To configure the SAML integration
- Under 2. Configure SAML, enter the information in the screenshot below, then click Show Advanced Settings.
NoteIn the screenshot below, we used “tenant” as a placeholder for the tenant name in your Helm CONNECT URL. When filling out these fields, please replace “tenant” with your real tenant name. For example, if your Helm CONNECT URL is https://hms.helmconnect.com then "hms" is your tenant name.
- To the right of Enable Single Logout select Allow application to initiate Single Logout to display additional fields, then enter the information in the screenshot below:

- Under Attribute Statements (optional), click Add Another to add a second attribute.
- Enter the information as shown in the screenshot below then click Next.
Finish SAML Integration
The next step is to finish SAML integration.
To finish SAML integration
- Under 3. Feedback, to the right of Are you a customer or partner? select I’m an Okta customer adding an internal app to display additional fields.
- Select This is an internal app that we have created then click Finish.
Send Us Information to Complete Your Setup
The final step is to email some information to your account manager so we can complete the IdP setup on the Helm CONNECT server.
To send us the information we need to complete your setup
- Under SAML Certificates, click Copy to copy the Metadata URL then paste into an email.
- Click View SAML setup instructions to display four additional fields.
- Copy and paste the contents of each field into the email you started in step 1.
- Send the email to your account manager.
- Log out of Okta and wait to hear from us. It shouldn’t take long!
