How to Configure and Use the Moxie Media LMS Integration
The Moxie Media LMS integration allows you to display your crew’s completed training courses directly in Helm CONNECT. Integrating with Moxie Media’s Learning Management System (LMS) helps ensure your crew’s training and certifications stay up to date and makes it easy for both shore and onboard users to verify compliance at any time.
Configure the LMS Integration
You can configure and manage your integration on the Management > People > LMS Integrations tab.

To configure your integration
- Go to the Management > People > LMS Integrations tab.
- Click the + icon in the upper-right corner of the tab to add a new integration. The Add New Integration window will open with the Moxie LMS Base URL pre-filled.
- In the Name field, type a name for your integration. This name will appear as a label beside imported training records.
- In the Color field, enter a Hex color code for your label color.
- Enter your Username and Password for your Moxie Media integration.
- (Optional) Select the Auto Sync checkbox if you want the integration to update automatically once a day. You can change this setting at any time.
- Click TEST CONNECTION to confirm that your credentials are correct.
- Click SAVE.
- Click the X in the top-left corner to close the window.
Your integration is now connected and ready to sync.
Map Moxie Media Users to Helm CONNECT Users
After you’ve configured your integration, you can import your Moxie Media users and map them to the corresponding Helm CONNECT users. The Student column displays the Moxie Media user, and the Helm User column displays the linked record in Helm CONNECT.
NoteIf users remain unmapped, check for differences in name spelling, formatting, or inactive accounts between Helm CONNECT and Moxie Media. You can manually select and map users, or contact Moxie Media Support for assistance.
To map users
- Go to the Management > People > LMS Integrations tab.
- Locate your Moxie Media integration card.
- If unmapped users exist, you’ll see a red badge indicating the number of unmapped users. Click the badge to open the User Mappings window.
- In the User Mappings window, click AUTO MAP USERS.
- The system will attempt to automatically match users between Moxie Media and Helm CONNECT based on their names.
- Any users who can’t be matched automatically will remain unmapped.
- Use the Search field in the upper-left corner to find a specific user. To narrow the list, use the Unmapped Only toggle to the right of the Search field.
- When the toggle is off, all users appear.
- When it’s on, only unmapped users are shown.
- For each unmapped user, select the corresponding Helm User from the list in the Helm User column. If a student shouldn’t be mapped to anyone, select the Ignore Mapping checkbox. This removes the student from the list so they won’t appear as mapped or unmapped.
- When you’re finished, click CANCEL or X to close the window.
View Training Records
After your users are mapped, their completed Moxie Media training courses appear in Helm CONNECT. You can view these records on the LMS History tab or from My Helm.
You can view this information in the following locations:
- The Onboard > Personnel > Crew > LMS History tab
- The Management > People > People > LMS History tab
- The My Helm > Profile > LMS Integrations tab
The LMS History tab displays imported Moxie Media training records, including course details and completion dates. From the My Helm > Profile > LMS Integrations tab, the logged-in user can see the list of courses they’ve completed through Moxie Media’s LMS. Both views make it easy to confirm that crew members are up to date with their required training and in compliance.
Keep Data in Sync Automatically
The Moxie Media integration offers two ways to keep your training data up to date in Helm CONNECT:
- Auto Sync (recommended): When you select the Auto Sync checkbox while configuring your integration, Helm CONNECT automatically updates completed Moxie Media training courses once per day in the background. This ensures each person’s training record stays current without requiring any action from you, but data may be several hours out of date depending on when it was last synchronized.
- Manual Sync: If you prefer to control when updates happen, you can leave the Auto Sync checkbox clear. In this case, you’ll need to click SYNC manually on the Management > People > LMS Integrations tab whenever you want to refresh the data.
Even if you have Auto Sync turned on, you can click SYNC manually at any time to update the data immediately.
Report on Training Records
You can report on Moxie Media training data using the LMS History data source in Helm CONNECT. This data source includes all training records imported through the Moxie Media integration, allowing you to create reports or dashboards that demonstrate compliance across your fleet.
Permissions
To view and manage your LMS data, make sure your user role has the correct permissions configured.
- To view LMS History onboard, enable Onboard > Personnel > Crew > LMS History, along with another permission that gives you access to the main Crew tab—such as Crew > Details or Crew > History.
- To view LMS History on shore and manage the integration, enable Management > People > LMS Integrations.
