Pause and Resume Voyages

You can pause a voyage and resume it later, making it easier to manage situations where work is temporarily interrupted, or you need to switch between customers or jobs.

Configure the Pause Voyage and Resume Voyage Event Types

Before you can pause and resume voyages, you need to configure the Pause Voyage and Resume Voyage event types. Learn how to configure event types here.

Pause and Resume a Voyage from the Logbook Tab

You can pause or resume a voyage on the Logbook tab by logging a Pause Voyage or Resume Voyage event. Learn how to log an event or activity here.

Pause and Resume a Voyage from the Voyages Tab

You can pause a voyage on the Voyages tab by changing its status to Paused and resume it by changing the status back to Active.

To pause a voyage:

1. Go to the Logistics > Dispatch > Voyages tab.
2. Select the active voyage you want to pause.
3. In the Status list, select Paused.
4. Click Save. The Log a new event window opens with Pause Voyage preselected in the Entry Type list.
5. Complete the required fields.
6. Click Log Event.

To resume a voyage:

1. Go to the Logistics > Dispatch > Voyages tab.
2. Select the paused voyage you want to resume.
3. In the Status list, select Active.
4. Click Save. The Log a new event window opens with Resume Voyage preselected in the Entry Type list.
5. Complete the required details.
6. Click Log Event.

What You Should Know:

• You can only pause a voyage with an Active status. If your voyage has a Draft, Planned, or Complete status, change it to Active first, then change it to Paused.
• To pause a voyage with a Complete status, manually remove the voyage's end date and save the record first. A confirmation message will appear letting you know that changing the status to Paused will delete the end date and time, along with the associated End Voyage event. If you confirm, the end date and time and the associated End Voyage event are deleted. If you cancel, the voyage status remains unchanged.
• You can't pause cancelled voyages.
• If you don't configure the Pause Voyage event type, the Paused option will be disabled in the Status list.
• If you don't configure the Resume Voyage event type, you won't be able to change a voyage with a status of Paused back to Active.
• If you update the start date of an active voyage to a future date and there are existing events before the new start date, a warning will prompt you to delete the events that occur before the updated start date. If you confirm, those events are deleted.
