Crew Certifications: Renew a Certification
When a crew member's certification is renewed, you'll want that reflected in Helm CONNECT without losing the record of the previous one. Renewing a certification, rather than editing it, keeps the earlier details in the certification's history while the new dates take over. That history matters when you need to show a full record at inspection time.
You'll do this on the Management > Certifications > Crew Certifications tab.
Renew a Single Certification
Renewing creates a fresh entry for the certification with its new dates, so the previous one stays on the record rather than being written over. This is different from editing, which changes the existing entry in place. When a certification has genuinely been renewed with a new issue or expiry date, renew it. When you're just correcting a detail that was entered wrong, edit it instead. See "Crew Certifications: Edit a Certification." If you have many certifications to renew at once, you can renew them together. See "Crew Certifications: Renew Certifications in Bulk."
