Logbook: Add a Manifest Passenger Without an Existing Profile
If you need to add a passenger who doesn't have a profile yet, you can create one directly from the Manifest grid. This is useful when someone boards unexpectedly or when you haven't had time to preload their information.
To add a passenger and create their profile
- Go to the Onboard > Logs > Manifest tab.
- From the asset list, select the asset where the passenger is boarding.
- Use the date navigation to select the arrival date.
- In the input row at the top of the grid, leave the External Person field empty.
- Fill in the required fields:
- First Name: Enter the person's first name.
- Last Name: Enter the person's last name.
- Person Profile: Choose the profile type that fits this person (Customer, Vendor, or Other).
- Time On: Enter the time the person boarded. You can enter it as "12:15" or "1215"—either format works.
- Date On: As soon as you complete the Time On field, this field fills in automatically with the date you selected in step 3.
- (Optional) Fill in additional fields:
- Middle Name: The person's middle name.
- Company: Depending on the type that was assigned to the selected person profile during setup (Customer or Vendor), this field displays either a list of companies or a list of vendors that you can link the person to.
- Click the Add Manifest Entry (+) icon at the far left of this person’s row in the grid to save the entry and add a new blank row above their entry.
The system creates a new external person profile and adds the passenger to the Manifest grid. You'll see them listed for each day from their arrival date until you log their departure.
NoteThe new external person profile you created is now available in Management > People > External People, where you can add more details like identification documents, attachments, and notes.
Tips for creating profiles on the fly
- A tooltip appears when you hover over the input fields to remind you which fields are required.
You can't add identification details when you create a profile this way—add those later by clicking the menu icon (⋮) and selecting Edit External Person or from the Management > People > External People tab.
- The Date On and Date Off fields always match the selected date in the grid—you can't change them in the input row.
