Reusing the Key from a Deleted Custom Field

Every custom field has a key. When you create a new custom field, you have the option to type your own key in the Key field, or leave it blank, and Helm CONNECT will use the field's name as the key, with the spaces between words removed.

Because each key has to be unique and remains in the system even after a custom field is deleted, you can't reuse an old key. If you try to create a new field with a key that's already been used, you'll see a message telling you the key already exists. When that happens, just give the new field a slightly different key, such as "pitch2" instead of "pitch." Keys must start with a letter and can contain only letters and numbers.
