Crew Certifications: Set Up Certification Categories
Certification categories keep your certifications organized into clear, color-coded groups, so you and your team can find and manage them at a glance. They're the broad groups you sort your certifications into, like Identification, Medical, or Training. Setting up your categories is the first step, because every certification type you create belongs to one.
For the full setup order and how the tabs work together, see "Crew Certifications: Introduction to Setup." Once your categories are in place, the next step is to create the certification types that belong to them. See "Crew Certifications: Set Up Certification Types."
Set Up Certification Categories
You can set up your certification categories on the Management > Certifications > Certification Categories tab. Each category has a name and a color, and there's always an empty row at the bottom of the list for adding a new one.
To create a certification category
- Go to the Management > Certifications > Certification Categories tab.
- In the empty row at the bottom of the list, enter a name for the category in the Name column, for example, "Medical."
- (Optional) In the Color column, click to open the color picker, choose a color, then click Apply. The color you choose appears with this category across the other Certifications tabs.
- Click the Save icon (the disk icon at the top right of the tab) to save your changes.
To rename a certification category
- Go to the Management > Certifications > Certification Categories tab.
- Double-click the category name, then edit it.
- Click the Save icon to save your changes.
To remove a certification category
- Go to the Management > Certifications > Certification Categories tab.
- Click the Remove icon (⊖) to the left of the category you want to remove.
- Click the Save icon to save your changes.
NoteTo undo changes you haven't saved yet, click the Discard icon (the undo arrow at the top right of the tab).
