Crew Scheduling: Review and Approve Crew Changes
If your approval policy is set to Shore Approval Required, crew changes completed on your assets appear on the Pending tab until someone on shore approves or denies them. Payroll starts counting a crew member's time onboard once their crew on is approved. The asset's current crew and the schedule are updated as soon as the crew change is saved onboard, before anyone approves it. For more about approval policies, see "Crew Scheduling: Set Up Approval Policies."
Approve or Deny Crew Changes
The Pending tab on the Personnel > Schedule > Crew Changes tab lists each crew member's crew on and crew off waiting for approval. The number beside the tab name shows how many are waiting.
To approve or deny crew changes
- Go to the Personnel > Schedule > Crew Changes tab.
- From the Asset list, select the asset.
- Click the Pending tab.
- (Optional) To correct the dates, position, payroll class, cost center, or other details, click Edit, make your changes, then click Save.
- (Optional) Click the notes icon to read the notes about a crew member or add your own. To add a note, enter it in the Description field, select your name from the Posted By list, then click Post.
- Do one of the following:
- To approve a crew change, click Approve.
- To approve several crew changes at once, select the checkbox next to each one, or click Select All, then click Approve Selected.
- To deny a crew change, click Deny. When you're asked "Delete this crew change?", click Delete.
NoteYou can't approve or deny a crew member's crew off until their crew on is approved.
What Happens When You Deny a Crew Change
Denying a crew change deletes it, so it doesn't appear on the History tab. If you deny a crew on, the crew member is removed from the asset's current crew, and their pending crew off is deleted too.
