Crew Scheduling: Set Up Conflict Checking
The Crew Scheduling module warns you when crew have overlapping shifts, or when their certifications are missing or expired. Unless you use the optional Conflicts settings, there's no limit on how far back or ahead it checks.
With the Conflicts settings, you can choose how many months back and how many months ahead the module checks, and leave out assets you don't want checked for conflicts. The Conflicts settings are turned off by default. To use them, contact your account manager.
For where to start and how the settings pages work together, see "Crew Scheduling: Introduction to Setup." Certification warnings appear only when the Show Certification Warnings toggle is on. It's on by default. See "Crew Scheduling: Set Up General Settings."
Before You Begin
Your tenant needs the Personnel > Scheduling > Schedule 2 > Conflicts permission. Without it, Conflicts doesn't appear in the list of settings pages.
Set Up Conflict Checking
You can set up conflict checking on the Conflicts settings page, which you open from the Personnel > Schedule > Schedule tab.
To set up conflict checking
- Go to the Personnel > Schedule > Schedule tab.
- Click the Settings icon, then click Conflicts.
- Fill in the fields. If you leave a warning window empty, there's no limit.
- Historical Warning Window: Enter the number of past months the schedule checks for conflicts and certification warnings. We recommend one to two months.
- Future Warning Window: Enter the number of months ahead the schedule checks for conflicts and certification warnings. Certifications that expire later than that don't get a warning.
- Assets Excluded from Conflict Checking: From the Excluded Assets list, select the assets to leave out of crew conflict checking. Scheduling crew on these assets doesn't create conflicts with their other assignments. This helps if you schedule crew on a placeholder asset to show they're working, before you know which asset they'll be on.
- Click SAVE.
