How does Helm CONNECT set an asset's time zone?
Helm CONNECT sets each asset's time zone automatically, based on the time zone configured on the asset installation's computer. It checks the computer's time zone every four hours and updates the time zone if it detects a change.
You can see and manage asset time zones in two places:
- On the Setup > Fleet > Fleet Installations tab, the detail view for each asset shows the detected time zone in the Last Known Time Zone field. If one asset has more than one installation, for example on both a computer and a tablet, use the Primary check box there to choose which installation is used to detect the asset's time zone.
- On the Management > Assets > Assets > Details sub-tab, each asset has a required Time Zone field that updates automatically when a time zone is detected for the asset's installation.
NoteIf you set the Time Zone field manually, the asset stays in the time zone you entered unless a new one is detected on the asset's computer.
