How do I delete an asset?
Deleting an asset can’t be undone. Please reach out to our Support team before deleting an asset so we can discuss other options. For example, we can offer suggestions for what to do with assets that you’ve sold or want to archive.
If you decide to delete an asset, here’s what will happen in Helm CONNECT:
- All history for the deleted asset, such as completed tasks, checklists, events, and activities, will be preserved. You’ll still be able to select the deleted asset from Asset lists on most History tabs, where it will be displayed with (Deleted) after its name. The deleted asset will also appear in reports with (Deleted) after its name.
- The deleted asset will no longer appear on the Management > Assets > Assets, Management > Assets > Tracking, and Management > Assets > History tabs.
- In Helm CONNECT Maintenance and Helm CONNECT Compliance, any maintenance, inspection, or form templates that were only assigned to this asset will be deleted. Any templates that were assigned to at least one other asset won’t be deleted.
- In Helm CONNECT Jobs, the deleted asset will still appear on any jobs to which it was assigned and you’ll still be able to bill and invoice related orders.
- In the Inventory module, you’ll be able to see the deleted asset’s parts and component history on the Inventory > Inventory History, Onboard > Inventory > Parts History, and Onboard > Inventory > Components History tabs.
- In the Inventory module, the deleted asset’s components won’t be listed as deactivated items on the Inventory > Inventory > Components tab.
- Asset types assigned to the deleted asset won’t be deleted.
- Asset certification templates assigned to the deleted asset won’t be affected.
