Alert your crew when documents must be acknowledged
If you've configured your published documents to require acknowledgment by an asset or an individual, a red notification banner will display at the top of the To Do list in Onboard > Logs to alert your crew when documents are waiting to be acknowledged. The banner displays the number of items that require action and includes a link to open the Items Requiring Action window.
From the Items Requiring Action window, your crew will see a list of documents that must be acknowledged. From here, they can click the View button to the right of each document to view and acknowledge it.
How do documents appear in the banner?
The banner appears automatically when you publish any document on the Compliance > Documents > Documents Control tab that requires acknowledgment either by individual or by asset.
It's also useful to know how your asset and user configurations will affect which documents appear in the banner.
- User logged in to an asset installation (installation has multi-user sign-on configured):
- The banner displays documents published to the installed asset that require acknowledgment by asset.
- The banner displays documents published to the installed asset that require individual acknowledgment by the logged-in user.
- User logged in to shore (user does not have Limit to Assigned Asset configured): The banner displays documents published to any asset in the users' division or above that require individual acknowledgment by the logged-in user. It makes no difference which asset is selected in Onboard > Logs.
- User logged in to shore (user has Limit to Assigned Asset configured): The banner displays documents published to the logged-in users' assigned asset that require individual acknowledgment by the logged-in user.
