AIS integration in Helm CONNECT

You can use a pre-configured link to an AIS tracking system to quickly locate assets, resources, and ships from within Helm CONNECT. 

How does it work?

By default, Helm CONNECT is configured to use the IMO number of an asset, resource, or ship to locate it using a custom tracking system provided by ShipTracks, our preferred vendor. Once you enter a valid IMO number for a particular asset, resource, or ship in Helm CONNECT, you'll be able to locate it with the default AIS tracking system from the following places:

• Assets: From the asset card on the Assets tab in Assets, on the Management menu, click the Vessel Tracking button.

  

• Resources: From the Jobs planner in Dispatch, on the Jobs menu, click the Resource icon to display the Vessel Details dim, then click the IMO number. Another option is to click the name of the resource when you're adding a resource to an order on the Trips tab in Dispatch

  

• Ships: From the Jobs planner in Dispatch, on the Jobs menu, click the Resource icon to display the Vessel Details dim, then click the IMO number.
