Set Default Values for Corrective Actions

You can configure default values for the "Assign to" and "Show in" fields on corrective actions so they're filled in automatically when someone creates a new corrective action. You can also configure a default value for the "Assign to" field on attached asset corrective actions. You can't set a default value for the "Show in" field for attached asset corrective actions because they always appear in the Attached Space.

How to Configure Global Defaults

Global defaults apply to all corrective actions or attached asset corrective actions regardless of type.

To configure global defaults for corrective actions

1. Go to the Setup > Field Configurations > Corrective Actions tab.
2. In the Auto-fill section, select the default values for the Assign to and Show in fields.
3. Click Save Changes.

To configure global defaults for attached asset corrective actions

1. Go to the Setup > Field Configurations > Attached Asset Corrective Actions tab.
2. In the Auto-fill section, select the default value for the Assign to field.
3. Click Save Changes.

How to Configure Type-Specific Defaults

Type-specific defaults apply only to corrective actions of a specific type and take priority over global defaults. This means that if you select a corrective action type after the global defaults have filled in, the type-specific defaults for that type override them.

To configure type-specific defaults for corrective actions

1. Go to the Setup > Compliance > Corrective Action Types tab.
2. Select the corrective action type you want to configure, then click Edit.
3. In the Auto-fill section, select the default values for the Assign to and Show in fields.
4. Click Save Changes.

What You Should Know

• Default values only apply when someone creates a new corrective action. They won't affect existing corrective actions.
• You can manually enter a different value than the displayed default. Default values won't override a value that someone has already selected manually.
• If the default space isn't available for the selected asset, the "Show in" field will be left blank. This applies to corrective actions only, since attached asset corrective actions always appear in the Attached Space.
