Set Default Values for Corrective Actions
You can configure default values for the Assign To and Show In fields on tasks so they're automatically filled in when someone creates a new task. You can also configure a default value for the Assign To field on attached asset tasks. You can't set a default value for the Show In field for attached asset tasks because they always appear in the Attached Space.
How to Configure Global Defaults
Global defaults apply to all corrective actions regardless of type.
To configure global defaults for corrective actions
- Go to the Setup > Field Configurations > Corrective Actions tab.
- In the Auto-fill section, select the default values for the Assign To and Show In fields.
- Click Save.
How to Configure Type-Specific Defaults
Type-specific defaults apply only to corrective actions of a specific type and take priority over global defaults. This means if the global defaults have already filled in and you then select a different corrective action type, the type-specific defaults for that type will override them.
To configure type-specific defaults for tasks
- Go to the Setup > Maintenance > Corrective Actions Types tab.
- Select the corrective action type you want to configure, then click Edit.
- In the Auto-fill section, select the default values for the Assign To and Show In fields.
- Click Save.
To configure type-specific defaults for attached asset tasks
- Go to the Setup > Maintenance > Task Types tab.
- Select the attached asset task type you want to configure, then click Edit.
- In the Auto-fill section, select the default value for the Assign To field.
- Click Save.
What You Should Know
- Default values only apply when someone creates a new corrective action. They won't affect existing corrective actions.
- You can manually enter a different value than the displayed default. Default values won't override a value that someone has already selected manually.
- If the default space isn't available for the selected asset, the Show In field will be left blank.
